Description

Nottingham Confucius Institute and Lakeside Arts Present

A new series of participatory events introducing children and their families to some elements of Chinese culture and language.

Each session is different, and will be led by Ling Peng, a talented musician and composer, artist and storyteller. Described by The Times as a ‘Fine musician’, Ling has been using her skills to help school children explore their creativity and learn about China for a number of years. An erhu virtuoso, her music experience enables her to use sound to its best potential and match it to a variety of creative forms.

  1. 25 September – Telling stories through music and sound
  2. 2 October – Traditional dragon and lion dance
  3. 9 October – Chinese dragon-puppet and lantern making
  4. 16 October -  Sing along – Chinese folk song
